JAGUAR MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
JAGUAR MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Since 2013, the Jimmy Porter Memorial Scholarships a way for the Jaguars to keep
alive the memory of Jimmy Porter, a 15-year-old Midget who passed away in
August of 2012. As an organization the Joliet Jaguars have decided to change the
name of the scholarship to the Jaguar Memorial Scholarship. The decision was
made because in recent years past members, family members, coaches and
others involved with the Jaguars have also passed away. In addition to the
scholarship awards, the Jaguar Midget team will play a memorial game dedicated
to Jaguars who have passed away. At this game the scholarship winners are
announced and presented the Jaguar Memorial Scholarship Certificate on the ice
prior to puck drop. The game day will also have raffle items, 50/50, T-Shirts for sale
and various other items in which all proceeds go to future Jaguar Memorial
Scholarship winners.

contents of the applicant's submission. The application would include letters of
recommendation from a teacher, coach or counselor, report card, character
reference letter, personal essay as well as any community service
performed, involvement within the club organization and volunteering with the club
programs. The scholarship winners will be officially announced and honored at the
