A LETTER TO THE CLUB

I wanted to take a moment and thank the Jaguar Hockey Club board of directors, coaches and families for their support over the past 10 seasons. I knew from the second time I put skates on I wanted to be a goalie. I was at IIC at the time and just finished my second session of Rocky Hockey, I walked to the middle rink to watch practice and saw my first up close goalie. My parents asked who could help me become a goalie…. the answer was Coach Stormy. I found coach after practice and asked for information. Coach told me a few things I needed to learn as a skater before I could suit up. I worked to learn the goals he set out for me and a few short weeks later my long relationship with Coach Stormy started. I started privates and working with his mite team for the fall. I took the plunge and tried out for the A2 season and made it, with Coach Stormy on the bench. We followed Coach Stormy to the Jaguars where he became the director.

Jaguars from the start became my home and fueled my love for hockey. The following 10 seasons I was fortunate to be coached by several great coaches, each one of these coaches taught me so many skills, manners and discipline to hockey and life. I want to thank the following for there help along the way, Coach Goss, Luciano, Coash, Zschach, Vertuci, Slagle, Schuman, Zeke (RIP), Griff, Grabko, Devivo, Black, Kochniarczyk, Price, Kremnitzer, Chefalo, Grzelak and Probie. wI also want to thank the coach that I been with since day one, he understands the position I play. He has been there for support both on and off the ice since day 1. He has challenged me both physically and mentally. He taught me to be humble and always work for what I want. Coach Stormy I am truly grateful for our time together then and moving into my next part of my career. You’re a great coach and a better friend and mentor.

Jaguar Board thank you for providing me a home for 10 years, I will miss my time in the Jaguar uniform. The club provided me a place to train, great coaches, teammates and the best hockey families.

Teammates and families, thank you the support over the years. Boys with out you guys my success would have never happened. These friendships will outlast hockey and that is a good feeling to have this support as we move on in life. Good luck in the future. All the families thank you for the support, I always know your in the crease with me, love hearing Freak, Joe, and Joseph coming from the stands on a good save, a good goal or even a bad goal. I also thank all of you for the rides to practice games and tourneys. To my goalie partners through the years thank you for pushing me to be my best in games, practices and clinics.

In closing, believe in the Jaguar way, your coaches and yourself. I played AA hockey my entire youth career and took advantage of opportunities and I made it to the next level. A patch or another A is not a guarantee, but hard work and support will help you reach your dreams. I hope to do the same with the Mustangs and beyond. This does not happen without the Jaguars and my hockey family.

Again, thank you everyone, I look forward to Peoria and will be back to help the club in any way I can

Thank you,

Joe Ambroffi #29
