Jaguar Hockey Club

To all present and prospective Jaguar Families,
 
Welcome to the 2011-2012 Season of Jaguar Hockey!  We are once again excited for the new season.  We hope you are ready for some hockey!
 
Registration for the 2011-2012 Season will once again be on-line.  By registering early, we have given you the opportunity for a discount.  We hope you will take advantage of that discount.
 
USA Hockey has singled out the Jaguar Hockey Club as one of just 46 in the entire country that have successfully grown youth hockey participation by meeting USA Hockey’s 2 & 2 Challenge for the past two seasons.  Our commitment to youth hockey growth continues again this season with our Blackhawks partnership in conjunction with our Minor Hawk program, twice a week Pre-Hockey classes, Come Play Hockey free clinics, and expanding our In-House/ADM program to minor 6u, minor 8u and major divisions.
 
As you look through the Fall 2011-2012 season information please note the following:

• The NIHL season has been extended from February to the end of March.  Although game limits are staying the same, the ratio of practices to games will increase.  Fees for this season have increased slightly but this incorporates practice ice for all travel and travel house teams through the end of March.
• Changes in USA Hockey rules include:
  • The checking age has moved from Peewee to Bantam.
  • Tag up offside for Bantams and Midgets.
• New to the club will be optional Wednesday Skills Clinics for those looking for more ice touches.  Skills topics include defense, skating, stick handling, and goalie instruction.

The Jaguar Board of Directors and I also promise to increase communication with you.  We will be continue weekly Jaguar updates to your email along with a General Meeting at the beginning of the season and increased communication through your team manager.  We also welcome each and every one of you to attend our monthly board meetings, which are held at 6:30 pm on the 3rd Wednesday of each month with the exception of July and December.  Please come and join us as we discuss what is happening in the club.  We also welcome you to give us your suggestions, comments, and opinions during the Open Floor portion of each board meeting or by emailing us at hockey@jaguarhockey.net.  Your comments, suggestions, and ideas are important to us!
 
Finally, I ask you to get involved.  For our club to run smoothly, each and every one of us need to step up and help with something.  From being a manager to running a camera during a game to assisting at a practice, we need volunteers.  Not sure what to do?  Let us know that you want to help and we will find a job for you.
