Jaguar Hockey Club

Congratulations on taking the first of many steps, or should I say strides in your hockey journey!!

The MinorHawks/Pre-Hockey Director,  Coach Jerry Fronek and his staff will be there to help answer any questions you may have before and after the session.

Here are a few quick tips to help make your first day fun and exciting!

Please have your child there 30 minutes early for check in at the Jaguar desk and equipment check out.

Have the player try their assigned helmet on first before all other equipment to assure a good fit.

As a reminder skates are not included in the One Goal equipment bag but there is a limited amount of rental skates available through Jaguars and the park district.

Once you have registered with the Jaguars you will need to register with USA Hockey http://www.usahockeyregistration.com.  There is a $30 fee for children over the age of 6.  Any skater under the age of 6 the $30 fee does not apply.

 **After skaters complete the Jaguar Minor Hawk and Pre-Hockey programs, they then graduate into Jaguar Cross Ice ADM  program.  This developmental league allows skaters multiple puck touches as they learn basic skills that they will use the rest of their hockey careers.  This two-to-three day a week program includes skills, practices, and games.  Visit out ADM tab on the web site.

MinorHawks (Learn to Skate)       For Beginning Skaters
MinorHawks provides basic skating fundamentals including forward and backward skating, quick starts and stops, forward and backward crossover, and turns and transitions.  The MinorHawks program is geared towards kids 4 to 8 years old but kids of any age that wish to learn to skate are welcome to sign up. The program meets once a week for six weeks. At the last class your player will recieve a certificate of participation or completion and a coupon for next session's registration.**Free rental equipment can be provided. 

Cost:  $75

Wednesday begins January 18th then 25th, February 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd

Sunday begins January 22nd then 29th, February 5th, 12th, (No Ice February 19th), February 26th, March 4th

Session IV:

Sundays 10:00 - 10:30am

Wednesday 5:00 - 5:30pm

Wednesday, February 29th, March 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th, April 4th

Sunday, April 1st, (No Class April 8th for Easter), 15th, 22nd, 29th, May 6th, 13th

Session V:

Sunday 10:00 - 10:30am

or

Wednesday 5:00 - 5:30pm

Wednesdays Only - April 11th, 18th, 25th, May 2nd, 9th, 16th

A $100 deposit will be required for all rental equipment.  Your deposit will be refunded when the equipment is returned.

Pre-Hockey I          Experienced Skaters
Players are brought right out of MinorHawks (Learn to Skate) class.  Basic skating fundamentals are continued with stickhandling being intorduced.  Full Hockey Gear (including hockey skates, helmets, neck guards, shin guards, elbow pads, shoulder pads, hockey pants and gloves) is required.  At the last class your player will recieve a certificate of participation or completion and a coupon for the next session's registration. 

Cost:  $100

Session III:

 Sundays 9:45 - 10:30am

Wednesday 4:45 - 5:30pm

o   Wednesday begins January 18th then 25th, February 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd

o   Sunday begins January 22nd then 29th, February 5th, 12th, (No Ice February 19th), February 26th, March 4th

Session IV:

Sundays 9:45 - 10:30am

or

Wednesday 4:45 -5:30pm

o   Wednesday, February 29th, March 7th, 14th, 21st, 28th, April 4th  

o   Sunday, April 1st, (No Class April 8th for Easter), 15th, 22nd, 29th, May 6th, 13th

  **Limited supplies of rental equipment will be available.  A $100 deposit will be required for all rental equipment along with a 20 dollar rental fee.  The deposit will be returned in full after your session is complete and the equipment is returned. 

Pre-Hockey II          Experienced Skaters
Pre-Hockey II is for those skaters that have completed Pre-Hockey I but are not yet ready to advance to ADM.   Skating fundamentals are reinforced, stickhandling, passing and shooting are covered.  Full Hockey Gear (including hockey skates, helmets, neck guards, shin guards, elbow pads, shoulder pads, hockey pants and gloves) is required. At the last class your player will recieve a certificate of paticipation or completion and a coupon for registration of the next session(if applicable).

Cost:  $100

 **Limited supplies of rental equipment will be available.  A $100 deposit will be required for all rental equipment along with a 20 dollar rental fee.  The deopsit will be returned in full at the completion of the session once the equipment is returned.
